About North Star Wellness

I’m Erica Adler, founder of North Star Wellness, and I’m glad you’re here. Now, who am I? Well…

I am a mother, a daughter, a sister, a wife, and a friend. I have good days and bad ones. I grew up in Westport, CT, graduated from Skidmore College and got my Masters in Social Work at Fordham University. I spent my twenties in NYC and worked at several psychiatric hospitals and treatment facilities before coming home to Connecticut, where I started North Star Wellness .

My friends and family have always described me as loyal, funny, sensitive and honest. My patients would say the same. Helping others is my greatest joy in life and it’s the reason I became a therapist.

Have you had negative experiences with therapists before? Has therapy felt like more of a chore than an outlet?

I have felt this way in the past, and it is one of the reasons I founded North Star Wellness.

Here we practice therapy through a variety of different modalities. We tailor our care to a variety of populations.

Our approach focuses on bringing more forgiveness and compassion to the self while helping our patients address any underlying guilt, shame or anger.
